CHILDHOOD SPRING – A Vivid Reflection of Youth & Nature

Childhood Spring captures the essence of youthful freedom, intertwined with the lush nature and vibrant aquatic life of Colombia. The rich greens and blues evoke the colours of tropical fish and the flowing rivers of my homeland, symbolizing both nostalgia and longing.
This was one of the final paintings I created in prison, marking a transformative period of self-discovery and artistic growth. Painted on an authentic prison-issued fire blanket, with an HMP label attached, this piece reflects the duality of confinement and escapism, merging cherished childhood memories with the stark reality of incarceration.
A deeply personal and visually striking work, Childhood Spring offers a unique perspective on resilience, identity, and the power of memory, making it a highly collectible and meaningful piece.
